About Einar
Originally from Iceland, Einar Thor Gudmundsson is currently living in The Netherlands after obtaining his Bachelor degree as he is now in his first year master at the Dutch National Opera Academy. Einar has studied with Rita Dams and Frans Fiselier during his last 3 years and a half, in in his last year of his Bachelor's, his main teacher was Frans Fiselier and is currently under his guidance in his masters. He has done many projects during his Bachelor study such as: B-minor mass project both in The Netherlands and in America, Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, John Cage Songbooks, A Hand of Bridge by Barber, Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solonelle by Rossini, Messiah by Händel, Requiem By Mozart, Die Jahreszeiten by Haydn, Requiem by John Rutter, performed in The Dutch National Opera, a DNOA performance of Blond Eckbert and many more.
Before moving abroad, Einar began his music studies as a classical pianist from the year 2000 to 2016, where in 2012 eventually he found his passion in classical singing. He performed in four Icelandic operas from 2012 to 2016. In one of the operas (Saemunder The Wise), he performed as the main character. He also performed in various oratorio concerts, an opera festival in 2015 and a Baroque festival in 2016. In his time in Iceland, he was a member of three choirs and an octet over a period of five years. Einar is now 31 years old and he aims to earn a professional career in Opera.
